Nitro RC Trucks

SO YOU ARE READY TO RC AND ROLL WITH A NEW NITRO RC TRUCK

I know you have to be a devout RC hobbyist and been around the track for a while or a keen beginner and have seen these monsters tear up the offroad track. The power and speed that these RC trucks have, offer a thrill a minute. So get ready for a great ride because there can be life time of fun ahead as they are one of the fastest growing parts of the RC hobby.

Finding your RC Truck

Researching the latest makes and models can be rewarding in its self. Finding out what is new from manufacturers such as Tamiya, Traxxas, HPI, Losi, CEN, Kyosho, Losi, XTM and Schumacher can open up your eyes as to the best nitro powered RC trucks for sale.I am focusing on RC trucks as this is the segment of the hobby that I consider to be the most exciting. Here are a few hints to help you search out the best truck or trucks for you to buy.

RC Stadium Trucks

Stadium trucks are great to play with but can also be very competitive if you decide to race them. They are fast, very nimble around the race course and can handle jumps  easily. The Traxxas Nitro Jato and Associated RC10T4 are models you should consider. The standard 1/10 scale model can achieve 30 mph+ and is available with 2-wheel drive and a .12ci nitro engine. But look out there are newer types that incorporate more speed, better traction, 4-wheel drive and speeds that can exceed 50+ mph.

On-Road Nitro Trucks

These are fast and meant to be used on a flat finished surface like a paved street or race course. They are also referred to as low rider RC trucks. The trick is that these versions have a touring car chassis with an RC truck body and can achieve speeds exceeding 50 mph. Be sure to look at the HPI RS4 F150.

RC Monster Trucks

If you want 4×4, size and power look no further. These monsters are about 17 inches wide and 20 inches long. The engines are .21 – .26ci and can race along at speeds  40 mph+. You should check out the Tamiya TNX, Traxxas T-Maxx 2.5, Traxxas Revo 3.3 and HPI Savage 25 for sure.

Once you have decided on the make and model you want to buy it is time to choose between a ready-to-run (RTR) kit and an unassembled kit. The RTR kit is almost complete right out of the box. Add fuel for the nitro engine, some batteries for the radio control, a glow plug igniter and you are off to the races. Unassembled kits are for the die hard hobbyist that wants to put more parts together for a higher sense of achievement.

You have purchased an RC truck with an engine and moving parts. It is smart to do regular maintenance then it will last longer and run better. A rag, brush and a spray bottle with a soap and water mix is very useful. Visual inspection of moving parts will help keep the repairs to a minimum.

Make sure you do your research before you buy a nitro RC truck whether online or at the local hobby store. Check back for information on the latest models available and where to get the best deals. Also, watch for tuning and maintenance tips
